Those of us who have watched ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ can testify that all those reds, pinks and yellows in the movie made us fall in love with shopping (isn’t that the opposite of what the movie set out to do?). Well, Rebecca Bloomwood had it easy if you ask me, for she didn’t have to deal with the attraction of ONLINE shopping!

Here are five reasons we can’t live without online markets anymore.

Now we can shop for our favorite brands without leaving the comfort of our home, or even the comfort of our bed. No more complaining about unavailable cars or closed markets on the weekend. Can’t get a car? Get a wifi connection instead!

The bad news is, time flies. The good news is, you’re the pilot. Do you go to a market and buy whatever is available because you don’t have time to travel to another? Switch to online shopping! You will get all the products on one screen and can just flick between different sites to find the one that truly appeals to you.


  1. Don’t dwell on your limitations

Gone are the times when being ill meant being miserable all day long. Illness no longer deprives you from enjoying the activity of shopping, as online shopping means you don’t have to leave your home. In fact, there’s no better way to uplift your mood than buying from your favorite brands!


  1. Easier to find out about sales offers

Advertising in newspapers about discounts and promotions is expensive, so not all brands do it. Informing people of these offers through their own websites, however, incurs no costs. So it is worthwhile to frequent your favorite brands’ websites so you don’t miss any special deals. Next time Eid is around the corner, go crazy.


  1. Didn’t like the product? Say so!

Online markets give every customer a voice. If the good delivered was not what you expected, you can always give the brand a low rating on its website or write a comment to warn fellow customers. There’s no better way to tell the brand managers that you are onto them!
